uggestions need as my return window is running out!!!
I purchased a G7X Mark II
to step up video quality/customization from a GoPro
Hero 5 Black. I am looking to get into event videos most likely wedding highlight reels. I noticed on the G7X there was a stuck pixel and returned it for a replacement only to find this one had one as well. It's mostly noticable under low light.
Regardless, this got me looking into other cameras. I don't want a full size DSLR but was shown the Canon M50. I like that it has a mic input bc the G7X audio is lacking a bit for me. I figured I could use a lav for audio which would be limited as the majority of my videos I overlay with a song and very little speaking. Also the ability to change lenses in the future. I have seen where the G7X can get dust under the lens which may be hard to remove, although I am very safe with my equipment and don't see that being a huge issue.UC browser SHAREit MX player
What I did notice is that the G7X looks better in low light and had much better stabilization which is important to me. The M50 does look to have better autofocus though with the newer DPAF.
It sounds silly but I also think giving a slightly larger, more customizable camera in the M50 would look more professional. I am just beginning though so I can't throw a ton of money into extras lenses, mics, stabilizers/gimbals, etc. I also love the portability of the G7X which I can throw in my GoPro
seeker backpack with ease.
May I mention I also have a GoPro
5 with Karma grip, Hero session and DJI spark, to throw other shots in the mix.
Will I be ok with the G7X starting off or would their be a better option in the price range (~$750 w/some added accessories)?
